Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is located at Yangtze River, at the border intersection of Jiangxi, Hubei, Anhui three provinces. On the south shore are the clear water lake and the north shore docks with Chikou Town, Huangmei County, Hubei. It is the biggest dual purpose bridge spanning with double-deck road and railway at present in China.
The upper deck forms four traffic lanes highway bridges and the width of the traffic lane extends to 14 meters, with both side's pedestrian walkway extending to 2 meters. The lower deck is the double thread railroad bridge.
The Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge railroad bridge length is 7,675 meters and the highway bridge length is 4,460 meters. There are 10 bridge piers and 11 erected steel girders altogether. The greatest span is 216 meters and the smallest span is 126 meters. The bridge's design is novel, exquisite; the workmanship is unique, grand magnificent sight. The bridge railroad approach used a new skill of no cutting and pressure and pre-stressed box beam and is the first bridge built in history in our country. The host river trough is 216 meters wide and is also the head of the national bridge. Our country's first experiment with 15 manganese barium nitrogen new aluminum was first used on this bridge. The building material of this bridge of steel products, cement, and lumber and so on created the highest record in our country and in the bridge history record.
The north shore of the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge is Xiaoci town of Huangmei County, Hubei Province. The clear water lake in Jiujiang urban district is located on the south shore. It has become a new scenic spot where tourists went sightseeing. Near the bridge are the Pipa Pavilion and the lock river staircase tower, forming a nice contrast.
