The temple is situated in downtown of Tai-an in Shandong province. The Dai Temple is the largest and most completed ancient building of Tai Mountain. It used to be the venue where emperors of the past dynasties held celebrations to worship heaven and earth and bestowed sacrifices to the God of the mountain. It was also the first stop for pilgrims on their way to the holy Tai Mountain. One of the attractions in Dai Temple is the stone engravings made in the Qin Dynasty, which has a long history of 2,200 years. The content engraved on the stone is about the merits and virtues of Ying Zheng (the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty).
