The Sun Island Park is situated on the north bank of Songhua River. It covers an area of 38 square kilometers. There are over twenty scenic spots scattered in the park.
Before 1949, the park used to be a resort for foreign colonies. Presently, many exotic buildings still exist. The park can be divided into two areas, namely for tourism and recuperation. Other than that, there is a natural beach resort named Jiangxin Island Beach Resort situated on the north of Sun Island.
It attracts numerous people to swim and relax here. Many interesting events are usually held in the park. People can join the snow carving festival or do some ice-sports such as skiing, ice-skating, playing ice hockey and so on.
