Known as northeast China's "Champs Elysees, "Harbin's Zhongyang Avenue is one of the top streets in the city both in the day and at night. With the length of 1,400 meters, the avenue is laid by smooth square granite, which is quite similar with the Nathan Road in Hong Kong. Built in 1900, there are altogether 71 buildings of different architectural styles such as the Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo and so on with European mood filling the air. Large departmental stores, fashion shops and food shops are located along both sides of the avenue. Russian goods are easily found in the avenue.
