Gao Temple is constructed on the platform connected with the city wall. It went through umpteen repairs and reconstructions. To date, it has become a big scale historical group building of the Qing Dynasty, displaying the characteristics and style of Ningxia historical building.

It shares the honor with "the marvelous sight of desert" and one of the two big landscapes of the center and the end. Gao Temple is an integrated temple of Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism. There is Security Temple on its front where the entrance faces south. The side buildings were constructed on both sides and directly in front are the valuable Sakyamuni Palace on the summit of Shan Yanxie. To the rear of the palace is the Gao Temple, built with 24 flights of stairs. ×Ö´®4
Upon ascending the stairs, it leads to the memorial arch, south fontanel, middle building and finally reaches five mountains comprising of three levels, Jade Emperor and the Jade Empress Palace. All these main constructions were constructed on a single axle. There are also the bell tower, drum tower, Wen tower, the Celestial palace and the side halls with repository Buddhist scriptures on both sides of the main construction of Gao Temple.
