Zhigong Monastery is located on the northeast of Mozhugongka County. It was one of the biggest million household in Yuan Dynasty. In 1179, Ren Qinbei established the Zhigonggeju Buddha Faction and constructed Zhigong Monastery. There is one famous Celestial Burial Platform on the mountain behind the temple named "Zhigong Altar City"
It was said there were only two famous Celestial Burial Platforms in the world. One is Zhigong Monastery Celestial Burial Platforms and the other is Siwasai Celestial Burial Platforms in India. After the Living Buddha touches the head of the person, the soul is allowed to leave the body and raised to heaven and not to hell when died. Thus, many people travel a long distance to take the decedent to have a celestial burial.
